Support Worker – Home Ageing Services (Permanent)
CASS Care Ltd is a multi-disciplined community services provider, with “CASS”, as our brand name, which is commonly known in the community. We are active in the provision of a comprehensive range of social welfare services, catering the needs from cradle to seniors, including residential aged care, home ageing, disability, settlement and health, employment and training, child care and many more community-based services.
Home Ageing Services provide care and support to older people, especially those from East Asian background, so that they can live independently at home and stay healthy, active in the community. Due to the expansion of our services, we are currently recruiting Support Workers in all regions of Sydney, including North West region – Baulkham Hills, Castle Hill, Cherrybrook; Western Sydney region – Parramatta, Granville; South West region – Cabramatta, Liverpool; City region – Glebe, Haymarket, Newtown, Surry Hills; Eastern Suburbs – Maroubra, Kingsford, Randwick, Botany, Kensington, Rosebery, etc.
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for providing personal care and support to older people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds living in their homes.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provision of direct care services to clients including personal care, meal preparation, medication, laundry, general housekeeping and cleaning, light gardening, transport;
- Provide timely reporting on service provided to clients using Alayacare and maintain close communication with Care Coordinators;
- Maintain professional boundaries;
- Maintain and respect client confidentiality;
- Protect and respect the privacy, dignity and rights of client; and
- Uphold CASS vision, mission and values.
Selection Criteria:
Essential
- Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent);
- Passion and knowledge about aged care services and older people;
- Understand and demonstrate person centred approach;
- Ability to communicate in basic English and in either Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Korean or Filipino;
- Current First Aid Certificate;
- Current NSW Driver Licence;
- Current National Police Check; and
- Own reliable registered vehicle with comprehensive car insurance.
Desirable
-Previous experience in home care or aged care;
- Certificate IV in Ageing Support, Disability, Community Services, or equivalent;
- HLTHPS006 Assist clients with medication;
- Basic digital literacy including using smartphone apps for clock-in/out, documentation (Alayacare/Humanforce), email and messaging.
Salary and employment conditions for the above position is as per Enterprise Agreement.
